March is #WomensHistoryMonth. Therefore, all month long, all my paintings will be of women who I felt are or were culturally significant or impactful in some way. Today, I present Margot Kidder as Lois Lane accompanied by Christopher Reeve as Superman.Margot Kidder (October 17, 1948 – May 13, 2018) was a Canadian-American actress, director, and activist whose career spanned five decades. Her accolades include three Canadian Screen Awards and one Daytime Emmy Award. Though she appeared in an array of film and television roles, Kidder is most widely known for her performance as Lois Lane in the Superman film series, appearing in the first four films.Lois Lane is a fictional character portrayed by Canadian-born actress Margot Kidder in the Warner Bros. Superman film series produced by Ilya and Alexander Salkind, and is an adaption of the original comic book character, Lois Lane. Kidder played Lois Lane opposite Christopher Reeve in Superman (1978), Superman II (1980), Superman III (1983), and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987).
